Summary

Create a WordPress post with a title and HTML-capable content, then optionally set its status, schedule, excerpt, slug, featured image, categories, tags, and SEO, FAQ, or CTA data. This operation always creates a new post; it does not update an existing post with the same slug.

Inputs

  • Title (required) — Post title.
  • Content (required) — Post body; HTML is supported.
  • Status — Post status: Published, Draft (default), Pending Review, Private, or Future.
  • Publish Date — Schedule date and time when status is Future. The UI says it is required for that status; a past date is replaced with the current time.
  • Excerpt — Short post summary.
  • Slug — URL-friendly post name. Must use lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens, or underscores.
  • Featured Image URL — Image URL to download and upload to WordPress as the featured image. Image processing errors are logged without failing the main create operation.
  • Categories — Comma-separated category names or IDs. Names are resolved or created as needed, then associated with the post.
  • Tags — Comma-separated tag names or IDs. Names are resolved or created as needed, then associated with the post.
  • SEO Options — Optional SEO metadata fields: meta title, description, keywords, Open Graph and Twitter titles and descriptions, and JSON-LD. Filled metadata fields are processed automatically; the deprecated Update SEO Metadata toggle is not needed.
  • FAQs — Optionally enable FAQ updates and provide one or more question-and-answer pairs. Requires the AI GROWTH SEO WP plugin.
  • CTA — Optionally enable CTA updates and provide button text and URL. Requires the AI GROWTH SEO WP plugin.

Output shape

A single n8n item containing the created post record.

The post is reloaded after creation to include processed taxonomies and SEO metadata; featured-image data is also refreshed when applicable. If the SEO plugin is unavailable, plugin-dependent FAQ or CTA processing can fail the operation.
