This is an n8n community node. It lets you send messages to a Google Chat space from your n8n workflows, using a space's incoming webhook.
Not endorsed by, affiliated with, or supported by Google. This is an unofficial, community-built integration.

Installation
Follow the installation guide in the n8n community nodes documentation.
Use the pacakge name to install:
@chez14org/n8n-nodes-google-chat-webhook
Operations
The node has a single action: Send a message. It maps directly onto the top-level fields of the Google Chat spaces.messages.create API:
- Text — the plain-text body of the message (always visible).
- Options (collapsed by default):
- Accessory Widgets — interactive widgets shown at the bottom of the message. Raw JSON, see the Cards reference.
- Cards — rich, formatted cards (
cardsV2). Raw JSON — design and preview cards with the Card Builder, then check the shape against the Cards reference. - Fallback Text — plain-text shown when the message's cards can't be rendered (e.g. mobile notifications).
- Message ID — a custom ID to name the message.
- Reply Option — whether the message starts a new thread or replies to an existing one.
- Request ID — a client-generated ID so retries don't create duplicate messages.
- Thread — identify the thread this message belongs to, either by thread key or by thread resource name.
Credentials
This node authenticates using a Google Chat space's incoming webhook URL — no OAuth or service account needed.
- In Google Chat, open the space you want to post to.
- Go to the space's Apps & integrations menu and choose Webhooks.
- Create a new webhook and copy its URL (it already includes the space's
keyandtokenquery parameters). - In n8n, create a Google Chat Webhook API credential and paste the URL into the Webhook URL field.
See the Webhooks quickstart for the full walkthrough. There's no built-in credential test, since the only way to validate the URL is to actually post a message to the space — run the node once to confirm it works.
Compatibility
Requires n8n's n8nNodesApiVersion 1. Tested against a recent n8n version; no known incompatibilities.
Usage
- The Cards and Accessory Widgets fields take raw JSON matching the Cards reference schema — build them visually first with the Card Builder, then paste the resulting JSON in.
- New to n8n? See the Try it out documentation to get started.
