Supermemory Chat Memory

Use Supermemory as a persistent, long-term semantic memory store for AI Agents

Supermemory Chat Memory

AI-generated

Summary

Loads Supermemory conversation context as AI memory variables under memoryKey, formatted as message objects or raw text based on returnMessages

Inputs

  • sessionKey (required) — The key to identify this conversation session (e.g. user ID or chat ID)
  • containerTag (required) — The space/tag in Supermemory where this conversation history will be kept
  • memoryKey (required) — Key to use inside the AI prompt for memory context
  • returnMessages (required) — Whether to return context as message objects (recommended for Chat models) instead of raw text

Output shape

A SupermemoryChatMemory instance configured with the provided parameters and Supermemory API credentials. When loaded by an AI Agent, provides memory variables under memoryKey: if returnMessages is true, an array of system-message objects containing formatted profile and semantic memory context; otherwise, a single raw text string. API errors gracefully fall back to a no-context fallback message.

All four parameters are required. sessionKey defaults to {{$json.sessionId}}, containerTag defaults to 'default', memoryKey defaults to 'chat_history', and returnMessages defaults to true. The node has no item inputs and outputs AiMemory type, intended for connection to an AI Agent's memory port.

Examples

Example 1: Chat workflow with persistent memory

Set sessionKey to user ID, containerTag to a unique space name, memoryKey to 'chat_history', keep returnMessages true. The node will fetch user profile and semantic memories from Supermemory on each AI Agent turn, formatting them as system messages for context-aware conversations.
