Overview

Enable transient, in-memory storage scoped to an individual workflow execution, workflow, or globally within n8n workflows using ephemeral session stores. Designed for workflow builders needing temporary context or state management during workflow runs without persistent storage, it integrates tightly with n8n as a specialized ephemeral context storage node.

Session Store (Ephemeral)

Manage temporary key-value data with in-memory session storage scoped to individual execution, workflow lifetime, or globally across all workflows. Supports a variety of standard data operations including atomic increments/decrements, array manipulations, existence checks, and full data retrieval or clearance within these ephemeral contexts.

• Default · Set Value(s) — Store one or more key-value pairs in an ephemeral in-memory session store scoped to execution, workflow, or globally across all workflows.
• Default · Get Value — Retrieve a stored value from the ephemeral session store by specifying the key and storage scope.
• Default · Get All — Retrieve the entire session data object from the specified ephemeral storage scope (execution, workflow, or global).
• Default · Check Exists — Check if a specific key exists in an in-memory ephemeral session store at a chosen scope (execution, workflow, or global).
• Default · Increment — Atomically increase a numeric value stored under a specified key in ephemeral session storage, scoped to execution, workflow, or globally across the n8n instance.
• Default · Decrement — Decrement a numeric value stored under a specified key in an ephemeral session store at a defined scope by a given amount.
• Default · Push to Array — Pushes a value to the end of an array stored in ephemeral session data at a specified key and scope.
• Default · Pop from Array — Remove and return the last element from an array stored in ephemeral session data at the specified key and scope.
• Default · Shift from Array — Remove and return the first element from an array stored in the ephemeral session store under a given key.
• Default · Unshift to Array — Add a value to the beginning of an array stored in an ephemeral session context at the specified key.
• Default · Remove Item — Remove a specified item by key from the ephemeral session store within a chosen scope, either deleting a key or removing an element from an array at that key.
• Default · Clear — Clear session data in-memory by removing either a specific key or the entire data set within the chosen scope.

Installation

Install as an n8n community node: in n8n, open Settings → Community nodes → Install and enter @ksoftm/n8n-nodes-ephemeral-context. See the n8n community nodes installation guide.
