An n8n community node for Addis AI, covering translation and text-to-speech between English, Amharic, and Afan Oromo.

Installation

Follow the n8n community nodes installation guide, or install manually:

Requires an Addis AI API credential:

Operations

The Addis AI Voice node supports:

  • Script → Amharic Speech (Translate + TTS) — translates a line of dialogue and synthesizes speech for it in one step, with per-line speaker (voice ID) and pacing/tone control. Useful for feeding one workflow item per dialogue line when different speakers need different voices.
  • Translate Text Only — translates text between English, Amharic (am), and Afan Oromo (om) in any direction.
  • Generate Speech Only (Text to Speech) — synthesizes speech from text and returns a playable WAV file.

Pacing/tone options include Natural, Slow/Deliberate, Energetic/Fast, and Dramatic.

Notes

  • The Speaker (Voice ID) field is free text — Addis AI does not currently publish a voice-listing endpoint, so check your Addis AI dashboard or support for available voice IDs on your account.
