n8n-nodes-answerline

n8n community node for the answer and search monitoring API.

Install it in n8n under Settings → Community Nodes as n8n-nodes-answerline.

  • Credentials (Answerline API): API key, base URL and engines. n8n tests them with GET /v1/credits. Engines lists the engines the node offers and defaults to every engine in the API contract; keep it to the ones served today (ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Google Search, AI Mode and Google News), since the API refuses paused engines.
  • Node (Answerline), operations:
    • Run Monitor: an engine's prompt or query, country and additional request fields (JSON), answered synchronously. For Google Search, a url in the additional fields replaces the query, and neither the query nor the country is sent with it.
    • Create Task: the same query as an async task, with priority, idempotency key and webhook URL.
    • Get Task: status and result of a task.
    • Get Credits: remaining credits and billing cycle.

With Continue On Fail, a failed item outputs the error message, its description and HTTP code.

The engine list in nodes/Answerline/engines.ts is generated from openapi/openapi.json and the priced engines in config/pricing.toml by integrations/codegen (npm run generate there), which also copies the engine lookup and request bodies shared with the Zapier app into nodes/Answerline/query.js. Requests are built in nodes/Answerline/request.ts and sent with n8n's httpRequestWithAuthentication, so n8n applies the credentials, proxies and logging.

Develop

npm ci && npm test

Tests cover request building, the parameters each operation shows, the engine options, Continue On Fail and the credentials, offline.

To try it in a self-hosted n8n, npm run build and npm link the package into ~/.n8n/custom.
