n8n-nodes-apple-app-store-search

An n8n community node that searches the Apple App Store by keyword and returns structured results: title, developer, ratings, price, version, genres, bundle ID, and more. It is backed by the Apple App Store Search API on Apify and bills per app returned, so there are no subscriptions and no minimums.

What it does

Give the node a search term, and it returns one item per app with the title, developer, ratings, price, version, genres, and a link to the App Store listing. It searches across 50+ country stores and many languages, and it also works as an AI Agent tool, so an agent can look up apps on demand.

  • Search the App Store for any keyword
  • Localize with a country store and a language code
  • Search by app name or by developer name
  • Filter by category (genre) and control results per page and page count
  • Choose how much data to return per app: Simplified, Raw, or Selected Fields

Installation

Follow the n8n community nodes installation guide:

  1. In n8n, open Settings > Community Nodes.
  2. Select Install.
  3. Enter n8n-nodes-apple-app-store-search as the npm package name.
  4. Agree to the risks of using community nodes, then select Install.

After it installs, the Apple App Store Search node appears in the nodes panel.

n8n Cloud only allows verified community nodes. Until this node is verified, install it on a self-hosted n8n instance.

Credentials

You need a free Apify account and an API token.

  1. Sign in to the Apify Console.
  2. Open Settings > Integrations and copy your Personal API token.
  3. In n8n, create a new Apify API credential and paste the token.
  4. Use the credential's Test button to confirm it works.

The node also supports Apify OAuth2 if you prefer to connect that way.

Operations

App > Search returns apps that match a keyword.

Parameter Description
Search Term The keyword to search the store for. Required.
Country Store Two-letter country code, for example us or gb.
Language Language code in the form xx-yy, for example en-us.
Results Per Page How many apps to request per page (1 to 200).
Maximum Pages How many pages to fetch (0 for all available pages).
Device Class Device to emulate: Desktop, Mobile, or Tablet.
Search Scope Search app names, or developer names instead.
Category ID Filter by store category (genre) ID.
Filter Explicit Apps Exclude apps flagged as explicit.
Output How much data to return: Simplified, Raw, or Selected Fields.

Output

Each app is returned as its own n8n item. The API returns more than ten fields per app, so the Output parameter lets you choose how much to return:

  • Simplified (default): a compact object with title, app_id, bundle_id, developer_name, rating_average, rating_count, price_type, price_amount, price_currency, genres, link, search_position_global, search_term, and search_country. This mode is also used automatically when the node runs as an AI Agent tool, to keep responses small.
  • Raw: every field the API returns for each app, using the original field names below.
  • Selected Fields: pick exactly which fields to include.

2. ASO keyword research

  1. Manual Trigger.
  2. Apple App Store Search: your keyword, Results Per Page 50.
  3. Set: keep title, search_position_global, rating_count, and genres to see which apps rank for the term.

3. Let an AI Agent look up apps

  1. AI Agent node.

Pricing

This node calls the Apple App Store Search API on Apify, which is billed pay-per-result (a small setup fee per run plus a per-app charge), with no subscription and no minimums. Apify also includes a free monthly usage tier that covers typical volumes. See the Actor page for current rates.
