What It Includes

  • Upwork action node
  • Upwork Trigger polling node with deduplication
  • OAuth2 credentials
  • Bearer/API token credentials
  • GraphQL requests
  • REST custom requests
  • Automatic retries and exponential backoff
  • Rate-limit handling through Retry-After
  • Cursor-ready query variables
  • AI-agent friendly normalized output
  • Advanced query/variables/item-path overrides to adapt to the schema enabled for your Upwork app

Important Upwork Note

Upwork API access is controlled by Upwork and commonly requires an approved developer app and OAuth scopes. Upwork also changes/limits schema access per app. For that reason this node is intentionally built around editable GraphQL templates and custom REST/GraphQL requests, so you can adjust a query in the node UI without rebuilding the package.

The default endpoints are:

  • API base URL: https://api.upwork.com
  • GraphQL endpoint: https://api.upwork.com/graphql
  • OAuth authorize URL: https://www.upwork.com/ab/account-security/oauth2/authorize
  • OAuth token URL: https://www.upwork.com/api/v3/oauth2/token

If Upwork gives your app different URLs, override them in the credentials.

Main Operations

  • Account: get current user
  • Jobs: search, get, save
  • Talent: search, get profile
  • Proposals: create proposal
  • Contracts: get many
  • Messages: get rooms, get messages, send message
  • Custom API Request: GraphQL or REST

Search Example

Use:

Resource: Job
Operation: Search Jobs
Search Query: n8n chatbot automation
Limit: 25

If Upwork returns a GraphQL field error, paste the schema-approved query for your app into Advanced -> GraphQL Query Override and set Advanced -> Item Path to the result path.

Development

npm install
npm run build
npm test
