Remote ExecInstall

Summary

Runs a shell command through the configured Remote Exec service once for each input item, using n8n expressions in the command field. Adds the command result under exec while preserving each input item's JSON.

Inputs

• Command (required) — Shell command sent to the service; supports n8n templating and must not be empty. Shared file paths work when both containers mount the volume at the same path.
• Timeout (Seconds) — Maximum command execution time; defaults to 300 seconds, and the service may apply a lower limit.
• Ignore Errors — When enabled, a non-zero command exit code does not fail the operation. Defaults to false.
• Return Full Output — When enabled, places stdout and stderr in separate fields. Otherwise stdout is returned as output, with stderr included when non-empty. Defaults to false.

Output shape

One output item per input item, retaining its JSON and adding an exec object.

The exec object contains command, exitCode, and durationMs, plus output fields according to Return Full Output. A non-zero exit code throws an error unless Ignore Errors is enabled; n8n's Continue On Fail setting can instead produce an item containing an error field.
