n8n-nodes-dnsmadeeasy
An n8n community node for DNS Made Easy Managed DNS. Manage domains and records against the production DNS Made Easy REST API from an n8n workflow. Targets self-hosted n8n instances only.
Requirements
- Node.js >= 20.15
- n8n v1+
- A DNS Made Easy account with API access enabled
Installation
Install via the n8n editor (Settings → Community Nodes) or manually:
npm install n8n-nodes-dnsmadeeasy
Credential setup
Add a DNS Made Easy API credential using the API key and secret key from your DNS Made Easy account (Account → API Keys). Every request is signed with an HMAC-SHA1 signature computed from the secret key, so the credential fields are used to sign requests rather than sent as a plain header. Only the production API (api.dnsmadeeasy.com) is supported — there is no sandbox toggle.
What's included
The DNS Made Easy node exposes two resources:
- Domain — Get, Get Many, Create, Update, Delete. Domains can be referenced from a list, by numeric ID, or by name (with server-side name resolution).
- Record — Get, Get Many, Create, Update, Delete, Delete Many (by a list of record IDs). Supports the common record types (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, PTR, SRV, HTTPRED, SPF) with type-specific fields, plus an "Additional Fields (JSON)" escape hatch for anything not exposed directly.
Both resources share the same domain-locator UX (list / ID / name) and route through a single lib/operations.ts module, so every operation's HTTP behaviour is defined exactly once.
