Documentation

n8n-nodes-easytask

An n8n community node for Easy Task — a ClickUp-style task manager. It lets you create and manage tasks, browse spaces and lists, read statuses, and list members from your n8n workflows against the Easy Task REST API (https://task.easyhive.pro/api/v1).

If you already use the ClickUp node in n8n, this node is a near drop-in replacement for the common task operations.

Installation

Community Nodes (recommended)

  1. In n8n, go to Settings > Community Nodes.
  2. Select Install.
  3. Enter the package name n8n-nodes-easytask and confirm.

The package must be published to npm first (npm publish from this directory). Until then, install it manually.

Manual / self-hosted

# inside your n8n custom-nodes directory (e.g. ~/.n8n/custom)
npm install n8n-nodes-easytask

Then restart n8n.

Getting an API key

  1. Open Easy Task and go to Settings > API.
  2. Create a new API key. It looks like et_live_….
  3. Copy it — you will paste it into the n8n credential.

Credential setup

Create an Easy Task API credential in n8n:

Field Value
API Key your et_live_… key
Base URL https://task.easyhive.pro/api/v1 (default)

The credential authenticates with Authorization: Bearer <apiKey> and its Test button calls GET /ping, so you get instant confirmation the key works.

Operations

Task

  • Create — in a chosen list, with name plus optional description, status, priority (urgent/high/normal/low), start/due dates (YYYY-MM-DD), assignees (member IDs or emails), tags, and custom fields (JSON).
  • Get — by task UUID or numeric task number.
  • Get Many — from a list, with filters for include_closed, status, and assignee, plus Return All / Limit.
  • Update — any of the create fields via PATCH.
  • Delete — soft-deletes the task.
  • Add Comment — posts a comment on a task.

List

  • Get Many — all lists across every space, flattened and annotated with their parent space/folder.
  • Get Statuses — the statuses available in a chosen list.

Space

  • Get Many — all spaces with their folders and lists.

Member

  • Get Many — all workspace members.

Pickers

Where useful, dropdowns are populated from the API: List (from /spaces), Status (from /statuses?list=), and members can be selected by name — so you pick by name in the UI instead of pasting IDs.

Replacing ClickUp nodes

Easy Task mirrors ClickUp's core model (Spaces > Folders > Lists > Tasks, with statuses, priorities, assignees, tags and comments). To migrate a workflow:

  1. Swap each ClickUp node for an Easy Task node with the matching resource/operation (Task Create/Get/Get Many/Update/Delete, List, etc.).
  2. Point it at the Easy Task API credential.
  3. Re-select the list/status via the dropdowns (IDs differ between systems).

API reference (endpoints used)

  • GET /ping — credential test
  • GET /spaces — spaces tree (folders + lists)
  • GET /members — members
  • GET /statuses?list= — statuses for a list
  • GET /lists/{listId}/tasks — tasks in a list (filters: include_closed, status, assignee)
  • GET /tasks/{taskId} — task detail (UUID or task number)
  • POST /lists/{listId}/tasks — create task
  • PATCH /tasks/{taskId} — update task
  • DELETE /tasks/{taskId} — delete task
  • POST /tasks/{taskId}/comments — add comment

Compatibility

Requires Node.js 18.10+ and a recent n8n. The node is usableAsTool, so it can be attached to an AI Agent as a tool.
