eWA IMAP Poll
Polls IMAP for new message metadata after an activation/cursor UID. No persistent IDLE.

Private eWA n8n community node package for scheduled incremental IMAP polling.

Purpose

Use this regular action node after a Schedule Trigger to poll one mailbox per workflow.
It opens one IMAP connection per polling cycle, fetches metadata for messages with
UID > max(Activation UID, Last Processed UID), and closes the connection cleanly.

The node does not update any cursor. The workflow must update Last Processed UID
only after a successful handoff to eWA-EMAIL-001 | Mailbox Intake & Normalization.

Guarantees

  • No persistent IMAP IDLE listener.
  • Metadata only by default.
  • No body fetch.
  • No attachment fetch.
  • No mark as read.
  • No move/delete/reply.
  • Results are sorted by UID ascending.
  • Limit per polling cycle is enforced.

Production model

One mailbox uses one dedicated polling workflow and one credential. All mailbox
polling workflows hand off to the shared EMAIL-001 workflow.
