n8n-nodes-g2-reviews-api

An n8n community node that collects G2 product reviews as clean, structured data: rating, title, review text, pros and cons, reviewer role, company size, and date. It is backed by the G2 Reviews API on Apify and bills per review, so there are no subscriptions and no minimums.

What it does

Give the node one or more G2 product review URLs, and it returns one item per review with the rating, title, review text, pros and cons, reviewer role, company size, and publish date. Optionally add one product-metadata item per product with category, star rating, review count, and competitors. It also works as an AI Agent tool, so an agent can pull and summarize reviews on demand.

  • Collect reviews for one or many G2 products in a single run
  • Cap reviews per product and choose a sort order
  • Optionally include a product-metadata row per product
  • Choose how much data to return per item: Simplified, Raw, or Selected Fields

Installation

Follow the n8n community nodes installation guide:

  1. In n8n, open Settings > Community Nodes.
  2. Select Install.
  3. Enter n8n-nodes-g2-reviews-api as the npm package name.
  4. Agree to the risks of using community nodes, then select Install.

After it installs, the G2 Reviews node appears in the nodes panel.

n8n Cloud only allows verified community nodes. Until this node is verified, install it on a self-hosted n8n instance.

Credentials

You need a free Apify account and an API token.

  1. Sign in to the Apify Console.
  2. Open Settings > Integrations and copy your Personal API token.
  3. In n8n, create a new Apify API credential and paste the token.
  4. Use the credential's Test button to confirm it works.

The node also supports Apify OAuth2 if you prefer to connect that way.

Operations

Review > Get collects reviews for one or more G2 products.

Parameter Description
Product Review URLs One or more G2 product review URLs, for example https://www.g2.com/products/asana/reviews. Required.
Sort Order Default relevance, most recent, most helpful, highest rated, or lowest rated.
Max Reviews per Product How many reviews to return per product, from 1 to 1000.
Include Product Metadata Add one product-metadata item per product.
Output How much data to return: Simplified, Raw, or Selected Fields.

Output

Each row is returned as its own n8n item. Rows are distinguished by result_type: a review, an optional product_metadata row, or an error row for a URL that could not be collected. The API returns more than ten fields, so the Output parameter lets you choose how much to return:

  • Simplified (default): a compact object with result_type, productName, rating, title, reviewText, pros, cons, reviewerRole, companySize, datePublished, verified, reviewUrl, and summary. This mode is also used automatically when the node runs as an AI Agent tool, to keep responses small.
  • Raw: every field the API returns, using the original field names below.
  • Selected Fields: pick exactly which fields to include.

  3. Google Sheets / Airtable: append productName, rating, title, pros, cons, and datePublished.

2. Build a win/loss dataset

  1. Manual Trigger.
  2. G2 Reviews: add your product and two alternatives, Output Selected Fields with productName, rating, reviewerRole, companySize, pros, and cons.
  3. Set / Code: group by companySize to compare how buyers describe each product.

3. Let an AI Agent summarize reviews

  3. Ask "Summarize the recent complaints about Asana on G2." The agent calls the node (in Simplified mode) and returns structured reviews to summarize.

Pricing

This node calls the G2 Reviews API on Apify, which is billed pay per review (about $0.004 per review), with no subscription and no minimums. The optional product-metadata add-on is billed separately per product. Apify also includes a free monthly usage tier that covers typical volumes. See the Actor page for current rates.
