n8n-nodes-ghl-trigger

A polling-based custom n8n trigger for GoHighLevel (HighLevel).

What it does

• Uses a GoHighLevel Private Integration Token + Location ID.
• Polls the HighLevel Contacts Search API.
• On the first production poll, it stores the newest existing contact and does not emit old contacts.
• On later polls, it emits only newly-created contacts.
• No webhook URL is required.

Requirements

• Node.js 22+
• n8n/self-hosted development environment for custom/community node development
• GoHighLevel Sub-Account Private Integration Token with contacts.readonly
• GoHighLevel Location ID

Run locally

npm install
npm run dev

n8n should open on http://localhost:5678.

Add GoHighLevel Trigger, create a GoHighLevel API credential, enter:

• Private Integration Token
• Location ID

Choose Contact Created, choose a Poll Time, and publish/activate the workflow.

Behavior

• Clicking Test/Execute manually returns the latest contact for testing.
• Activating the workflow initializes the cursor without sending existing contacts.
• A contact created after activation is emitted on the next poll.
