n8n-nodes-hetzner-auction-monitor

An n8n community node that polls the Hetzner Server Auction (Serverboerse) and returns listings matching your price and spec criteria. It is backed by the Hetzner Server Auction Monitor on Apify and bills per event, so there are no subscriptions and no minimums.

What it does

Give the node your budget and hardware requirements (price, RAM, disk, ECC, datacenter, CPU) and it returns one item per matching Hetzner auction listing: server model, CPU, RAM, disk, price, datacenter, and a direct URL. It also works as an AI Agent tool, so an agent can answer questions like "is there a cheap 64GB RAM server on Hetzner auction right now?" Good for deal monitoring, price-history tracking, and feeding alerts (Slack, email, spreadsheets) whenever a matching server appears.

  • Filter by min/max monthly price and currency (EUR or USD)
  • Filter by minimum RAM, ECC requirement, disk type and minimum total disk size
  • Filter by datacenter location prefix and a CPU model substring
  • Choose how much data to return per result: Simplified, Raw, or Selected Fields
  • Runs as a one-shot query each execution — pair it with n8n's own Schedule Trigger for recurring polling

Installation

Follow the n8n community nodes installation guide:

  1. In n8n, open Settings > Community Nodes.
  2. Select Install.
  3. Enter n8n-nodes-hetzner-auction-monitor as the npm package name.
  4. Agree to the risks of using community nodes, then select Install.

After it installs, the Hetzner Server Auction Monitor node appears in the nodes panel.

n8n Cloud only allows verified community nodes. Until this node is verified, install it on a self-hosted n8n instance.

Credentials

You need a free Apify account and an API token.

  1. Sign in to the Apify Console.
  2. Open Settings > Integrations and copy your Personal API token.
  3. In n8n, create a new Apify API credential and paste the token.
  4. Use the credential's Test button to confirm it works.

The node also supports Apify OAuth2 if you prefer to connect that way.

Operations

Auction > Search Listings returns listings matching your filters.

Parameter Description
Currency EUR or USD.
Min Monthly Price Leave empty for no lower bound.
Max Monthly Price Upper bound on the monthly price.
Min RAM (GB) Minimum RAM required.
Require ECC Memory Only return listings with ECC memory.
Disk Type Any, NVMe, SATA, or HDD.
Min Total Disk (GB) Leave empty for no disk-size filter.
Datacenter Locations Comma or newline separated location prefixes (e.g. FSN, NBG, HEL). Empty matches any location.
CPU Contains Case-insensitive substring the CPU model must contain (e.g. Ryzen, Xeon). Leave empty for any CPU.

Output

Each listing is returned as its own n8n item. The Output parameter lets you choose how much to return:

  • Simplified (default): id, cpu, ramGB, price, currency, datacenter, url. This mode is also used automatically when the node runs as an AI Agent tool, to keep responses small.
  • Raw: every field the Actor returns for each listing, using the original field names below.
  • Selected Fields: pick exactly which fields to include.

Fields (Raw and Selected Fields)

Field Type Description
id string Auction listing identifier
price number Monthly price
currency string Currency code, EUR or USD
ramGB number Total RAM in gigabytes
cpu string CPU model
datacenter string Datacenter location
disk string Disk configuration summary
ecc boolean Whether the memory is ECC
specials array Special features flagged by Hetzner (e.g. GPU, iNIC)
server string Server model/series
url string Direct URL to the auction listing

Example workflows

1. Alert on a matching deal

  1. Schedule Trigger (every 10 minutes).
  2. Hetzner Server Auction Monitor: Max Monthly Price 80, Min RAM (GB) 64.
  3. Filter: keep only new listing IDs not seen before, then post to Slack.

2. Track auction price history

  1. Schedule Trigger (hourly).
  2. Hetzner Server Auction Monitor: broad filters to capture most listings.
  3. Google Sheets or Postgres: append id, price, ramGB, cpu, datacenter for later analysis.

3. Let an AI Agent check for cheap servers

  1. AI Agent node.
  2. Attach Hetzner Server Auction Monitor as a tool.
  3. Ask "Is there a cheap 64GB RAM server on Hetzner auction right now?" The agent calls the node (in Simplified mode) and reports matches.

Pricing

This node calls the Hetzner Server Auction Monitor on Apify, which is billed pay-per-event: $0.001 per successful poll of the auction feed ($1 per 1,000 checks). Failed fetches are never charged. No subscription, no minimums. Apify also includes a free monthly usage tier that covers typical volumes. See the Actor page for current rates.
