  • fields — Template mode. Resource mapper of the template's fields. Empty values are dropped. Multiselect/checkbox values accept a JSON array or comma-separated string. Expanded variant fields are assembled into {variants:[...], selected} with the first variant selected.
  • additionalOptions.priority — Template mode. low, normal, high or urgent. Added to the payload as priority.
  • additionalOptions.externalId — Template mode. Your own reference ID. Added to the payload as external_id.
  • additionalOptions.callbackUrl — Template mode. URL HumanStep calls when the decision is resolved.

Output shape

One output item per input item, containing the JSON response from HumanStep's create-decision endpoint (includes the decision id and may include a resolve_url). The status is typically pending at this point.

Runs once per input item, or once if there is no input. With Continue On Fail, failed items output {error: message}. Requires HumanStep API credentials. To block until the decision is resolved, use Create Decision and Wait instead. The node logs debug info to the n8n console unless HUMANSTEP_N8N_DEBUG=0.
