n8n-nodes-lassocut
An n8n community node for LassoCut: remove the background of images in your workflows. The LassoCut API is compatible with the remove.bg API, so you can move a remove.bg-based workflow to LassoCut by swapping the node. The options and output stay the same.
Installation
In n8n, go to Settings > Community Nodes, click Install and enter n8n-nodes-lassocut.
See the n8n community nodes installation guide for more details.
Credentials
- Create an account and copy your API key from https://www.lassocut.com/account/.
- In n8n, create a LassoCut API credential and paste the key.
The key is sent in the X-Api-Key header. n8n tests it against the account endpoint when you save the credential.
New accounts get 50 free previews a month (up to 10 a day, preview size). Full-size results use credits, which you can buy on https://www.lassocut.com/pricing/.

Each output item also carries these JSON fields: credits_charged, width, height and detected_type.
The node shows API errors (invalid key, insufficient credits, rate limit and so on) as readable messages, and it supports Continue On Fail.
Example workflow
Remove the background of product photos stored in a folder and save the cut-outs:
- Read/Write Files from Disk (or Google Drive, Dropbox, an HTTP Request node...) loads the photos as binary data in the
datafield. - LassoCut > Remove Background with Input set to Binary File, Format
pngand Crop to Subject on. - Read/Write Files from Disk (or any upload node) writes the
datafield. Each file is named<original name>-removebg.png.
To start from URLs instead (for example a list of product images in a spreadsheet), set Input to Image URL and map the URL column with an expression such as {{ $json.image_url }}.
Use size: preview while you build and test the workflow: previews are free within the monthly allowance.
