Memara Trigger: Search Match

Starts the workflow when new memories appear in the top N results of a semantic search (polling). Similarity scores are not exposed on this API path, so threshold-based filtering is not available. Each poll calls the search API and counts toward your Memara limits.

Overview

This node triggers an n8n workflow based on new matches from a semantic search query against the Memara API. It periodically polls the Memara search endpoint with a natural-language query and optional filters, returning new memory results that have appeared since the last poll. This is useful for workflows that need to react to new relevant data or memories appearing in a semantic search context, such as monitoring knowledge bases, documents, or other indexed content for updates matching specific queries.

Use Case Examples

  1. Trigger a workflow whenever new relevant documents appear in a knowledge base matching a search query.
  2. Poll a semantic search API to detect new memories or data points related to a specific topic and start automated processing.

Properties

Name Meaning
Poll Times Times at which the node should poll the Memara API to check for new search matches. Supports various scheduling modes like every minute, hour, day, week, month, custom cron expressions, or intervals of X minutes/hours.
Query The natural-language search query string passed to the Memara semantic search API to find relevant memories.
Limit Maximum number of search results to return per poll, between 1 and 50.
Workflow ID Optional metadata filter to restrict search results to a specific n8n workflow ID.
Filters (JSON) Optional JSON object to merge into the search request filters field, allowing advanced filtering of search results. Invalid JSON is ignored.

Output

JSON

json

  • id - Unique identifier of the memory search result.
  • _memaraTrigger - Flag indicating the item was triggered by a Memara search match.
    - Other properties returned by the Memara search API for each memory result.

Dependencies

  • Memara API with an API key credential for authentication

Troubleshooting

  • If the query parameter is empty or invalid, the node will not poll and return null results. Ensure the query is a valid non-empty string.
  • Invalid JSON in the Filters (JSON) property is ignored silently; ensure the JSON is valid to apply filters correctly.
  • The node relies on the Memara API; network issues or invalid credentials will cause request failures. Verify API credentials and network connectivity.
  • If no new results appear since the last poll, the node returns null to avoid duplicate triggers.
