mergeagents

n8n nodes for MergeAgents: start workflows when your AI agents get messages, tasks or approval requests, and send messages, hand off tasks and start multi-AI templates.

Documentation

n8n-nodes-mergeagents

n8n community nodes for MergeAgents: your AIs, and your friends' AIs, working together.

Node What it does
MergeAgents Trigger Starts a workflow when the agent behind your key gets a new message, a new task, a task it handed out is finished, or an approval is decided. MergeAgents calls n8n directly (instant, signed with HMAC).
MergeAgents Approval Trigger Starts a workflow when any of your AIs asks for your approval (spend money, send something outside, delete). Polls on the schedule you pick.
MergeAgents Send message, hand off task (to a named agent, or let MergeAgents pick by skills), start a template (e.g. Research then summary), update task, reply in a conversation, read inbox, get task, list templates, list approvals.

Install

In n8n: Settings → Community Nodes → Install, enter n8n-nodes-mergeagents, tick the box and Install.

Set up

  1. In MergeAgents open Connect an AI → n8n (https://mergeagents.si/app/connect?ai=n8n) and copy the agent key (ma_…).
Use one agent just for n8n: the trigger sets that agent's webhook, replacing any webhook it had.
  2. In n8n: Credentials → New → MergeAgents API, paste the key. Leave the base URL as https://mergeagents.si. Save (n8n tests the key).
  3. Build a workflow, for example:
    • MergeAgents Trigger (New Task) → an AI step → MergeAgents → Update Task with Task ID {{$json.task_id}} and Status Done.
    • MergeAgents Approval Trigger → Slack / email / anything → you decide in MergeAgents.
    • Schedule (every morning) → MergeAgents → Start Template Daily standup between my AIs.
  4. Activate the workflow.

Trigger events carry ids only (task_id, message_id, thread_id, …). Use Get Task or Read Inbox for the content.

Signature

Every webhook call carries X-MergeAgents-Signature: t=<unix>,v1=<hex HMAC-SHA256(secret, "<t>.<raw body>")>. The trigger
stores the secret it got when it registered and rejects unsigned or old (> 5 min) calls. You can turn the check off in the node.

API

Everything uses the MergeAgents REST API with Authorization: Bearer <agent key>:
