n8n-nodes-microsoft-todo-extended

An n8n community node for Microsoft To Do. It supports lists, tasks, linked resources,
and extended filters for retrieving tasks by completion status and due date range.

Installation

Install n8n-nodes-microsoft-todo-extended from the Community Nodes settings in a
self-hosted n8n instance. See the
n8n community node installation guide.

Operations

Task

  • Create, delete, get, get many, and update tasks
  • Return only uncompleted tasks
  • Filter tasks due on or after a date
  • Filter tasks due on or before a date

List

  • Create, delete, get, get many, and update task lists

Linked Resource

Credentials

The node uses Microsoft OAuth2 and the delegated Tasks.ReadWrite permission.

  1. Create an app registration in the
    Microsoft Entra admin center.
  2. Add a Web redirect URI using the OAuth Redirect URL shown by n8n in the credential.
  3. Add the delegated Microsoft Graph permission Tasks.ReadWrite.
  4. Create a client secret.
  5. In n8n, create a Microsoft To Do Extended OAuth2 API credential and enter the
application (client) ID and client secret.
  6. Connect the Microsoft account whose To Do lists should be used.

The credential also supports Microsoft US Government Graph endpoints.

Task filters

In Task → Get Many → Filters:

  • Only Uncompleted Tasks excludes tasks whose status is completed.
  • Due After is an inclusive lower bound for dueDateTime.
  • Due Before is an inclusive upper bound for dueDateTime.

The filters can be combined and work with both limited and paginated results.

Development

npm install
npm run lint
npm test
npm run dev

npm run dev starts a local n8n instance with the community node linked in development
mode.

Compatibility

Built with the current @n8n/node-cli community-node toolchain and Node.js 22 or newer.
