n8n-nodes-mobly

An n8n community node for the Mobly REST API (v0). Use it to manage leads, events, activations, tag groups, lead activity events and industry events directly from your n8n workflows.

Note: The Mobly API does not currently expose webhooks, so this package ships an action node only (no trigger). To react to changes, poll with a Schedule Trigger plus the Get Many operations.

Installation

Community nodes can be installed from within n8n (Settings → Community Nodes → Install) using the package name:

n8n-nodes-mobly

Or install manually into your n8n custom-nodes directory:

npm install n8n-nodes-mobly

Credentials

Create a Mobly API credential and paste your API key. The key is sent on every request as the x-api-key header. The credential is verified against GET /leads when you click Test.

Notes on specific operations

  • Lead → Create requires Created By Email, First Name, Last Name and Company Name. Email and phone numbers are optional.
  • Lead → Update uses a PATCH; only the fields you set under Update Fields are sent.
  • Event → Add or Update Leads takes a list of { leadId, registered, checkedIn } entries and upserts the associations.
  • Industry Event → Create / Update take a raw Body (JSON) object, since Mobly deduplicates and enriches these server-side. name is required on create (not eventName). See the API docs for the accepted fields.

Pagination

Get Many operations expose Return All and Limit. Mobly caps each page at 50 items and treats offset as a zero-based page index; the node requests full pages (limit=50, offset=0,1,2…) until it has enough results or reaches the last page.

Rate limits

Mobly uses a token-bucket limiter per API key (burst 20, refill 1/sec) and returns 429 with a Retry-After header when exceeded. The node handles this itself: it pauses when X-RateLimit-Remaining hits 0 and, on a 429, waits for Retry-After and retries (up to 6 times per request). Large Return All runs therefore slow to about one page (50 items) per second after the first 20 pages, rather than failing.

Development

npm install --ignore-scripts # skips native n8n build deps not needed to compile
npm run build # tsc + copy icons to dist/
npm run lint # eslint with n8n community rules
