Generate Document
AI-generatedSummary
Create a PDFMonkey document from a template ID and dynamic payload, with optional metadata and filename. By default, wait for generation to finish and return the document response with the generated file attached as binary data.
Inputs
- Document Template ID (required) — ID of the PDFMonkey template to use.
- Payload Input — Choose JSON (the default) or key-value pairs for the dynamic template data. Key-value values beginning with
[or{are parsed as JSON when valid. - Payload (JSON) (required) — Payload object supplied when JSON input is selected.
- Payload — Repeated key-value fields supplied when key-value input is selected.
- Custom Filename — Optional filename; added to metadata as
_filenameonly when that metadata key is not already set. - Meta (JSON) — Additional document metadata as JSON.
- Wait For Completion — Defaults to true. When enabled, polls for up to five minutes and downloads the file after successful generation. When disabled, returns the creation response without waiting or attaching the file.
Output shape
One output item per input item, containing the PDFMonkey response as JSON and, when waiting is enabled and generation succeeds, the generated file as binary data in data.
A generation failure or five-minute timeout raises an operation error (or returns an item with an
errorfield if Continue On Fail is enabled). With waiting disabled, the immediate creation response is returned without binary data.
