Operations

Create Customer

Create a customer with phone number, name, email, consent status, tags, notes, pipeline stage, and custom fields. Select WhatsApp Number when the workspace has more than one active number.

Get Customer

Fetch a customer by ID.

List Customers

List customers with optional search, consent status, blacklist status, pipeline stage, WhatsApp number, limit, and offset filters.

Update Customer

Update name, email, tags, notes, pipeline stage, or custom fields. Only the fields you fill in are sent; set the pipeline stage to empty to remove the customer from its stage.

List Pipelines

List the workspace's sales pipelines with their stages. Use a stage ID from here in Create Customer or Update Customer.

Get Pipeline

Fetch a single pipeline and its stages by pipeline ID.

List Custom Fields

List the custom field definitions (key, label, type) you can set through Create Customer or Update Customer.

Get Message Status

Fetch message status by message ID. Optionally filter by WhatsApp or Instagram.

List Messages

Read WhatsApp or Instagram message history, oldest first, one output item per message. Set Conversation ID or Customer ID for a single conversation; leave both empty to read the whole workspace (for example an export for analysis). Since / Until narrow the time range. Return All follows every page, paces requests to stay under the API limit (100 requests/minute per API key and per workspace), and waits out a rate-limit response (429, honouring Retry-After) instead of failing; otherwise Limit caps the result (max 200). Each message carries sender_type (customer, ai, auto_reply, agent, broadcast, business_app, business) so AI replies can be told apart from agents on WhatsApp.

Send Message

Send a message to a customer through WhatsApp or Instagram.

For Instagram workspaces with more than one connected account, select Instagram Account when the customer has messaged several of them; the account ID also arrives as data.instagram_account_id on every Instagram webhook event, so a Sambungan Trigger → Send Message reply can use it directly.

For WhatsApp workspaces with more than one active business number, select WhatsApp Number. This sends whatsapp_phone_number_id to Sambungan so the message is sent from the correct number. If the workspace only has one active WhatsApp number, Sambungan can use it automatically.

When a WhatsApp template is sent to a phone number Sambungan does not know yet, a customer record is created automatically. Use Customer Name to name that record, or turn Auto-Create Customer off to reject unknown numbers instead.

Customer Lookup

Method Example
Customer ID cust_abc123
Phone Number +6281234567890
Instagram Username johndoe

Message Types

Channel Types
WhatsApp text, image, document, audio, video, template, interactive
Instagram text, image, media_share

List Templates

Filter WhatsApp templates by:

  • Status: APPROVED, PENDING, REJECTED
  • Category: MARKETING, UTILITY, AUTHENTICATION
  • WhatsApp Number: limits templates to the WhatsApp Business Account that owns the selected number

List WhatsApp Numbers

Returns active WhatsApp business numbers. Use the returned whatsapp_phone_number_id in Send Message, Create Customer, List Customers, List Templates, or Send Typing Indicator when a workspace has multiple WhatsApp numbers.

Get Template

Fetch a single WhatsApp template by ID.

Mark as Read

Send a read receipt for an inbound message.

Send Typing Indicator

Show a typing indicator for a customer conversation. Rate limit: once every 3 seconds per customer.

Sambungan Trigger

Starts a workflow when Sambungan delivers a webhook event.

  1. Add Sambungan Trigger to a workflow and copy its Production URL (use the Test URL while listening for a test event).
  2. In the Sambungan dashboard open Developers → Webhooks, create an endpoint with that URL, and subscribe it to the events you want.
  3. Paste the endpoint's secret into the node's Webhook Secret field. The node then verifies X-Sambungan-Signature (HMAC-SHA256 of the raw body) and rejects anything else with 401.
  4. Pick the Events and Channels that should start the workflow. Deliveries that do not match are acknowledged with 200 and dropped, so Sambungan does not retry them.

Each item is the webhook payload (event_type, event_id, timestamp, data) plus delivery_id and idempotency_key from the headers. Use idempotency_key to deduplicate retries. Test deliveries sent from the dashboard (event_type: "test") always pass through so you can inspect the shape.
