n8n-nodes-shirabe

This is an n8n community node for Shirabe — Japan-specific data APIs that return deterministic, source-attributed values instead of guesses.

Use it in n8n workflows (including as a tool for the n8n AI Agent) to:

  • Normalize Japanese addresses into structured components, backed by the official Address Base Registry (ABR)
  • Split Japanese personal names into family/given name and estimate readings (furigana) with all attested candidates (IPAdic + JMnedict)
  • Validate and look up Japanese corporate numbers (13-digit houjin bangou) against National Tax Agency registry data
  • Get Japanese calendar info for any date: rokuyo (六曜), koyomi notes, zodiac, solar terms, and per-purpose auspiciousness scores
  • Enrich a record in one call: any combination of address, name, corporate number, and date

n8n is a fair-code licensed workflow automation platform.

Installation

Follow the installation guide in the n8n community nodes documentation. The package name is:

n8n-nodes-shirabe

Operations

Resource Operation What it does
Address Normalize Normalize a Japanese address into structured components (prefecture, city, town, …) with ABR attribution
Name Split Split a Japanese full name into family name and given name
Name Reading Estimate the furigana reading, plus the full set of attested reading candidates and sources
Corporation Validate Check a corporate number: format, checksum, and existence in the registry
Corporation Lookup Resolve a corporate number to registered company name, address, corporate type, and closure info
Calendar Get Day Rokuyo, koyomi notes, zodiac, solar terms, and per-purpose auspiciousness scores for a date
Enrich Enrich Record All of the above in one call — provide any subset of fields

All responses are structured JSON with attribution for the underlying open data sources.

Credentials

The credential is optional for trying things out: most endpoints work anonymously on a free tier. For production volumes, create an API key at shirabe.dev/pricing and add it as a Shirabe API credential in n8n (it is sent as the X-API-Key header).

  • Per-API keys and Hub license keys (shrb_lic_...) are both accepted.
  • The Enrich resource is designed for Hub Pro/Enterprise licenses; anonymous callers get a monthly trial quota.

Usage

As a regular node

Feed it items containing Japanese addresses, names, corporate numbers, or dates, select the resource/operation, and map the input fields. A typical pattern is cleaning a CRM export: Spreadsheet → Shirabe (Enrich) → destination.

As an AI Agent tool

The node is marked as usable by the n8n AI Agent. Attach it as a tool and the agent can call it whenever a task involves Japanese addresses, name readings, corporate numbers, or calendar dates — instead of hallucinating those values.
