n8n-nodes-simplewa
An n8n community node for SimpleWA — send WhatsApp messages, manage
sessions, and register webhooks from your n8n workflows.
Installation
Via n8n's Community Nodes UI (Settings → Community Nodes → Install), enter:
n8n-nodes-simplewa
Manual installation:
cd ~/.n8n/custom
npm install n8n-nodes-simplewa
Restart n8n afterward either way.
Credentials
Create a SimpleWA API credential with:
| Field | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Server URL | Your SimpleWA server, e.g. https://your-server.com |
| API Key | SimpleWA dashboard → Settings → API Key (swa_live_...) |
The API key is a single static key per tenant — generating a new one immediately invalidates the
old one everywhere it's in use. Update the credential in n8n right after rotating it.
Nodes
SimpleWA
| Resource | Operations |
|---|---|
| Session | List, Get, Create, Delete, Reassign |
| Message | Send Text, Image, Video, Audio/Voice Note, Document, Location; Get Status, QR, Health |
| Webhook | Create, List, Get, Update, Delete |
SimpleWA Trigger
Registers a webhook on workflow activation and removes it on deactivation. Currently only theworker.offline event is dispatched by the SimpleWA backend — other event types can be selected
for forward-compatibility but won't fire yet.
Sending media
Choose Message and then Send Image, Send Video, Send Audio, or Send Document.
The node accepts native n8n binary data (the default binary field is data) and automatically
preserves its MIME type and filename. It can also accept raw Base64 or a complete data: URL.
Images, videos, and documents support captions; audio can be sent as a normal audio file or a
WhatsApp voice note. The hosted SimpleWA API currently limits media files to 15 MB by default.
For a location message, choose Send Location and provide latitude, longitude, and optional
description/address fields.
