n8n-nodes-spreadapi
This is an n8n community node for SpreadAPI — it lets you
run spreadsheet calculations as part of your n8n workflows.
SpreadAPI turns Excel models into web APIs: pick cells as inputs and outputs,
publish, and every calculation your spreadsheet can do becomes callable — pricing
models, financial calculators, engineering formulas, quotes.
n8n is a fair-code licensed
workflow automation platform.
Installation
Follow the installation guide
in the n8n community nodes documentation:
Settings → Community Nodes → Install and enter n8n-nodes-spreadapi.
Operations
Calculate
Sends input values to a published SpreadAPI service and returns the calculated
outputs. Runs once per incoming item — to calculate many scenarios, feed the
node many items.
- Inputs — a typed form generated live from the service definition:
fields with allowed values become dropdowns, booleans become toggles,
numbers get number inputs, and required fields are enforced. Switch to
JSON mode to map a whole object from a previous node instead. - Simplify Output (default on) — outputs arrive as a flat object,
e.g.{ "monthly_payment": 1265.79, "total_interest": 155684.4 }.
Turn it off for the raw API response including metadata. - Bypass Cache — force a fresh calculation.
Get Service Details
Returns the service's full self-description: input parameters (types, ranges,
allowed values), outputs, and usage documentation. Useful for exploring a
service or building dynamic workflows.
Credentials
One paste is all it takes: copy the service URL from your service's
Integration panel (n8n section) and paste it into the credential's
Service URL field. For token-protected services the URL already includes
the token; for public services the plain URL works. n8n tests the connection
when you save the credential.
In the node, pick your service From List (it shows the credential's service) — the input form then loads automatically. For public services you
can skip the credential and choose the service By URL or By ID.
Things to know
- Percentages are decimals. A rate of 5% is
0.05, not5. Strings like"5%"are converted automatically. - Numbers and booleans given as text are converted server-side;
yes/no,true/falseand1/0all work for boolean inputs. - Validation errors name the exact parameter, what's wrong, and the allowed
values — check the error output when a calculation fails. - The Service ID is shown in the service's Integration panel and in its URL.
