n8n-nodes-synology-nas-api
n8n community nodes to manage files and browse photos on a Synology NAS.
- Synology NAS Drive — File Station: list, upload, download, move and copy files/folders.
- Synology NAS Photos — browse recent photos, get a single photo, download the original file, list albums and tags.
Both nodes share a single Synology NAS API credential, which supports accounts protected by 2-factor authentication (OTP).
Installation
In n8n, go to Settings → Community Nodes → Install, and enter:
n8n-nodes-synology-nas-api
Credential setup
- Create a new Synology NAS API credential with your NAS's protocol, host, port, username and password.
- If your account does not use 2-factor authentication, you're done — click "Test" to verify.
- If your account does use 2FA:
- Add the Synology NAS Drive node to a workflow, set resource Session → operation Generate Device ID, enter the current OTP code from your authenticator app, and execute it once.
- Copy the returned
deviceIdvalue into the Device ID field of your credential. - Future executions will authenticate as a trusted device and won't need an OTP code again.
