Summary

Prints every binary file on each incoming item to a Microsoft Universal Print printer via Microsoft Graph, creating a print job, uploading the document, and starting the job.

Inputs

  • printerId (required) — Printer to print on; loaded from the Universal Print printers list (or set by expression). Other dropdowns load options based on this printer.
  • mediaSize — Paper size, loaded from the selected printer's capabilities. Defaults to A4.
  • orientation — Portrait (default) or Landscape.
  • copies — Number of copies, minimum 1. Defaults to 1.
  • duplexMode — Duplex mode from the printer's capabilities (e.g. One Sided, which is the default).
  • colorMode — Black and White, Color (default), or Grayscale.
  • scaling — Auto, Fill, Fit, None (noneScaleToFit), or Default. Default leaves the setting out so the printer's own default applies.
  • inputBin — Paper feed tray from the printer's capabilities. Empty means the printer default and the setting is omitted.
  • outputBin — Output tray from the printer's capabilities. Empty means the printer default and the setting is omitted.

Output shape

One output item per binary file printed. Each item's json is the Graph API response from starting the print job (job id, status, configuration). Items are paired to their input item.

An input item with no binary data raises an error: 'No binary data found.' With Continue On Fail enabled, the item yields {error: message} instead. An item with several binary properties creates a separate print job for each. Requires the microsoftUniversalPrintOAuth2Api credential. The node only starts the job and doesn't wait for printing to finish.

Examples

Example 1: Print a PDF invoice received by email, duplex, 2 copies

Place the node after a step that outputs the PDF as binary data. Set printerId to the office printer, copies=2, a duplex mode such as long-edge (if the printer offers it), mediaSize=A4, colorMode=blackAndWhite.

Example 2: Print shipping labels from a generated file in landscape

Choose the label printer, orientation=landscape, scaling=fit, and an inputBin that holds the label stock.
