Summary

Set one or more typed variables within the current workflow execution's context, optionally including selected fields from the input data in the output.

Inputs

• Include Other Input Fields — Whether to include fields from the input data; if enabled, specify which fields to include or exclude.
• Input Fields to Include — Mode to select input fields to include in the output: all, selected, or all except specified fields.
• Fields to Include — Comma-separated list of input field names to include when using "Selected" mode.
• Fields to Exclude — Comma-separated list of input field names to exclude when using "All Except" mode.
• Values to Set (required) — An array of variable assignments, each with a variable name, data type (string, number, boolean, array, object), and a value (supports expressions).

Output shape

a list of items with JSON containing the last set value for each specified variable, merged with optionally included input fields for each corresponding input item

Variables are stored only during the single workflow execution and persist through waiting executions. Each variable holds the last value set across all processed input items. Binary data from input items is passed through only if input fields are included in the output.

Examples

Example 1: Setting variables with inclusion of specific input fields

Set variables user_id (number) and isActive (boolean), include only the input field 'email' in output.
