WAOtomatis Trigger

AI-generated

Summary

Starts a workflow when a selected WAOtomatis session (connected WhatsApp number) emits chosen events, by registering a webhook on the WAOtomatis API when the workflow is activated.

Inputs

  • Session (required) — The WAOtomatis session to listen on. Pick from a searchable list (label, phone number, status) or enter an ID directly (letters, digits, underscore, hyphen).
  • Events — Events that trigger the workflow: Message Received (message.received), Message Updated (Status) (message.updated), Session Status (session.status). Defaults to Message Received.

Output shape

One workflow item per accepted webhook delivery, containing the JSON body POSTed by WAOtomatis (the event envelope, including an event field).

On activation, the node POSTs to /v1/sessions/{id}/webhooks with the n8n webhook URL and selected events. It stores the returned webhook id and signing secret. On deactivation it DELETEs the webhook, ignoring errors. If a secret is stored, each delivery's X-Wao-Signature (HMAC-SHA256 of the raw body) is verified. Invalid signatures get a 401 and don't trigger the workflow. Deliveries whose event isn't among the selected events are dropped without running the workflow. Requires waotomatisApi credentials, which can set a custom base URL.

Examples

Example 1: Auto-reply or log every inbound WhatsApp message

Session: choose from list; Events: Message Received.

Example 2: Track delivery/read status of sent messages and alert on session disconnects

Session: By ID (e.g. sess_01H…); Events: Message Updated (Status) and Session Status.
