n8n-nodes-workflow-triggers

This is an n8n community node package that allows programmatically orchestrating and triggering workflows starting from individual Multiple Manual Trigger nodes.

This plugin is a companion to n8n-nodes-multiple-manual-triggers and depends on it.

Key Features

  • Programmatic Triggering: Trigger manual triggers in workflows from external inputs or internal automation.
  • Workflow & Trigger Autocomplete: Dynamically loads all workflows containing multiple manual triggers and allows selection of specific trigger nodes in the selected workflow.
  • Result Retrieval: Fetch status, all run data, or the output of a specific node after execution completes.
  • Custom Timeouts: Configure execution timeouts and failure handling behavior.

Requirements

This plugin requires:

  1. n8n-nodes-multiple-manual-triggers installed on your n8n instance.
  2. An n8n API Key to dynamically fetch workflows and poll executions.

Credentials Setup

To use this node, you need to create a n8n Workflow Triggers API credential:

  1. n8n Instance URL: The root URL of your n8n instance (e.g., http://localhost:5678 or https://n8n.yourdomain.com).
  2. n8n API Key: Created from your n8n instance under Settings > n8n API.

Available Parameters

  • Workflow: A dynamic dropdown listing all workflows that utilize the Multiple Manual Trigger node.
  • Trigger Node: A dynamic dropdown listing all Multiple Manual Trigger nodes inside the selected workflow.
  • Response Mode:
    • Only Success / Status: Returns high-level execution metadata (execution ID, status, success boolean).
    • Output of Specific Node: Returns the JSON outputs of a specific node from the executed workflow.
    • All Nodes Run Data: Returns the full execution data for all executed nodes.
  • Output Node: Dynamically populated list of nodes in the target workflow. (Visible when Response Mode is set to Output of Specific Node).
  • Additional Fields:
    • Timeout (Seconds): Maximum time to wait for the workflow execution to finish (default: 60 seconds).
    • Fail Node on Workflow Failure: If enabled, the calling node will fail if the triggered workflow fails (default: true).
