Summary

Retrieve messages from a specified chat room, optionally filtering by one or more event IDs and limiting the number of returned messages.

Inputs

• Room ID (required) — The unique identifier of the chat room to read messages from.
• Event ID (Optional) — An optional single event ID to filter the messages retrieved.
• Event IDs — A comma-separated list of event IDs to filter the messages retrieved.
• Limit — The maximum number of messages to return, defaulting to 50 if not specified.

Output shape

a list of message objects corresponding to the filtered messages retrieved from the specified room

The response contains up to the specified limit of messages matching the optional event ID filters. If no event IDs are specified, messages from the entire room are returned up to the limit.
