Stackby Trigger (Webhook)

Fires your workflow instantly when data changes in Stackby. Uses webhooks — requires your n8n instance to be reachable from the internet.

Parameter Description
Stack ID The stack to watch.
Table ID Optional — leave blank to watch all tables in the stack.
Trigger Events Row Created, Row Updated, Row Deleted — select one or more.

Note: When you activate a workflow containing this trigger, n8n automatically registers a webhook subscription with Stackby. When you deactivate it, the subscription is removed.

Stackby Polling Trigger

Polls Stackby on a schedule and emits rows that are new or updated since the last run. Use this when:

  • Your n8n is running locally (no public URL for webhooks)
  • You want a scheduled sync rather than real-time events
Parameter Description
Stack ID The stack to poll.
Table ID The table to poll.
Trigger Field Created At — emit newly created rows only. Updated At — emit new and recently modified rows.
View ID Optional — restrict to records visible in a specific view.
Fields Optional — comma-separated columns to return.
Search Text Optional — only emit rows whose primary column contains this text.

Set the polling interval in the Schedule section of the trigger node (e.g. every 1 minute, every hour).

Finding Your Stack ID and Table ID

Open any table in Stackby. The URL looks like:

https://stackby.com/stack/STACK_ID/TABLE_ID

Example:

https://stackby.com/stack/stAbc123/tbXyz456
                          ^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^
                          Stack ID Table ID

Both IDs start with a short prefix (st for stacks, tb for tables).

Example Workflows

1. Trigger a Slack message when a new row is added

  Message: New record added: {{ $json.Name }}

    Email → {{ $json.email }}
    Status → "New"

3. Sync new Stackby rows to Google Sheets (polling)

  Stack ID: stAbc123
  Table ID: tbXyz456
  Trigger Field: Created At
      |
      ↓
[Google Sheets: Append Row]

4. Upsert a record (update or create)

  Stack ID: stAbc123
  Table ID: tbXyz456
