Documentation

@synci/n8n-nodes-synci

n8n nodes for Synci. Synci connects your bank, brokerage and crypto accounts and gives you your own data through one API. With these nodes you can read accounts, balances, holdings and transactions in n8n, add and edit transactions, and start workflows when Synci sees something new.

n8n is a fair-code licensed workflow automation platform.

Installation

On n8n Cloud and self-hosted n8n, open the nodes panel, search for Synci and install it. You can also follow the community nodes installation guide with the package name @synci/n8n-nodes-synci.

Nodes and operations

Synci

Resource Operations
Account Get, Get Many, Get Balances, Get Holdings
Connection Get, Get Many
Transaction Create, Delete, Get, Get Many, Update
  • Get Many has a Return All toggle and a Limit. Transactions can be filtered by account, booking date range, booked or pending, and free-text search, and sorted by date or amount.
  • Simplify (on by default) returns a short version of each account, balance, holding, transaction or connection. Turn it off to get every field Synci returns.
  • The node can be used as a tool by n8n AI agents.

Synci Trigger

Starts a workflow when a Synci event happens. See Synci Trigger.

Credentials

The nodes support two ways to connect. Pick one in the node's Authentication field.

API token (works everywhere)

  1. Sign in to Synci and open Developers > Personal Access Tokens.
  2. Create a token. Leave the scopes empty for full access, or grant only what you use:
    • accounts:read: accounts, balances and holdings
    • transactions:read and transactions:write: reading and changing transactions
    • financial-connections:read: connections
    • webhooks:read and webhooks:write: the Synci Trigger
    • profile:read: needed for n8n's Test button on the credential
  3. In n8n, create a Synci API credential and paste the token.

OAuth2 (n8n Cloud)

On n8n Cloud, create a Synci OAuth2 API credential and click Connect my account. Synci asks you to sign in and choose which accounts n8n can see. There is nothing to fill in.

This option only works on n8n Cloud. On a self-hosted n8n, use an API token.

Synci Trigger

When the workflow is activated, the trigger registers a webhook with your Synci account. When the workflow is deactivated, it removes the webhook again. The webhook shows up in Synci under Developers > Webhooks with an n8n badge.

Events: transactions created or updated; balance updated; holdings updated; account created, updated or deleted; and connection lifecycle events (created, activated, reauthorized, expiring, expired, failing, recovered, disabled, deleted).

Options:

  • Account IDs: only trigger for these accounts.
  • Simplify: output only the event data, without the delivery envelope.

Things to know:

  • Signatures: every delivery is signed with a secret Synci returns when the webhook is created. The trigger checks the X-Synci-Signature header and rejects anything else with 401.
  • Retries: Synci retries a failed delivery after 1 minute, 10 minutes and 1 hour. Each delivery carries an event_id that stays the same across retries, so use it to skip duplicates.
  • Test events: clicking Listen for test event sends a sample of the first selected event straight away.
  • Plan: webhooks need a paid Synci plan with a free webhook slot.
  • HTTPS: Synci only delivers to HTTPS URLs. A self-hosted n8n needs a public HTTPS WEBHOOK_URL.

Example workflows

  • Spending alerts: Synci Trigger (Transactions Created) → IF amount < -100 → Slack message.
  • Transaction log in a spreadsheet: Synci Trigger (Transactions Created, Simplify on) → Google Sheets Append Row.
  • Daily balance digest: Schedule Trigger → Synci (Account: Get Many) → email summary.
  • Reconnect reminders: Synci Trigger (Connection Expiring) → email with a link to renew the bank connection.

Compatibility

Built with @n8n/node-cli 0.49 for n8n 1.x (nodes API version 1).
