Filtering

Device-related resources (Query, Device, Alert, Backup, System) share the same filter fields. Enter plain values — the node builds the NinjaOne device filter expression for you:

Filter Example input
Organization ID 5 or 1,2,3
Device ID 123
Location ID / Role ID 12
Device Classes pick from a list
Online Status Online / Offline
Approval Status Approved / Pending

Query reports additionally offer the filters their endpoint supports, for example Installed Before/After for Software, or Status, Type and Severity for OS Patches.

Authentication

Method Typical use Credential name
OAuth2 (Authorization Code) Write operations (create/update tickets, post comments) NinjaOne OAuth2 API
Client Credentials (M2M) Read operations (list tickets, get devices, fetch contacts) NinjaOne Client Credentials API

Both credentials support all four NinjaOne regions: EU, US, Oceania and Canada.

The OAuth2 credential requests the offline_access scope so refresh tokens are issued.

Installation

In n8n

  1. Go to Settings → Community Nodes
  2. Click Install a community node
  3. Enter @vaiyen_og/n8n-nodes-ninjaone
  4. Click Install

Via npm

npm install @vaiyen_og/n8n-nodes-ninjaone

Setup

OAuth2 credential

  1. In NinjaOne, create an API Application (Authorization Code type)
  2. Set the redirect URI to your n8n OAuth callback URL
  3. In n8n, add a new NinjaOne OAuth2 API credential
  4. Enter your Client ID and Client Secret
  5. Select your region
  6. Click Connect my account and log in with the NinjaOne user account

Client Credentials credential

  1. In NinjaOne, create an API Application (Client Credentials type)
  2. In n8n, add a new NinjaOne Client Credentials API credential
  3. Enter your Client ID and Client Secret
  4. Select your region and save

The scopes granted to the API application in NinjaOne determine which operations succeed. Read-only applications cannot perform write operations.

Supported NinjaOne regions

Region Base URL
EU eu.ninjarmm.com
US app.ninjarmm.com
Oceania oc.ninjarmm.com
Canada ca.ninjarmm.com

Not covered

The following NinjaOne API areas are not implemented: billing, checklist templates, policy conditions, installer generation, device decommissioning, patch scan/apply actions, knowledge base folder management and bulk custom field administration. Technicians, end users, scheduled tasks, notification channels and software licenses can be listed, but not created, updated or deleted.

Ticket lists from a board are returned unfiltered — the NinjaOne board endpoint rejects filter fields. Filter the results in your workflow instead.
