Short → Create a short link
AI-generatedSummary
Creates a short link by sending a POST request to /v1/short for each incoming item. The API response is returned as output item data; optional request settings can add fields, headers, query parameters, or a custom body.
Inputs
- Additional Fields — Optional link attributes: route, destination URL, preview title and description, image and favicon URLs, consent setting, click count, and created or updated timestamps. These are sent in the request body.
- Options → Custom Body — Optional JSON merged into the request body; its values override matching Additional Fields.
- Options → Custom Headers — Optional HTTP headers added to the request.
- Options → Query Filters — Optional query-string parameter and value pairs added to the request.
- Options → Batching — Can pause between groups of input items. The node still sends one request per item; the batch size and interval control the pauses.
- Options → Debug — When enabled, adds request URL, method, query parameters, headers, and body details to the output under a debug entry.
- Options → Timeout (ms) — Request timeout in milliseconds; defaults to 300000.
- Options → Pagination — The UI exposes pagination settings, but this operation only uses them if Return All is enabled.
- Return All — When enabled, uses the pagination helper for the POST request and returns collected response items. When disabled, sends one request and returns its response.
Output shape
One or more n8n items containing the API response data, with each array element mapped to an item; a non-array response becomes one item.
The node makes one POST request per input item. Debug mode adds request details as a separate output item for each request. With Return All enabled, the pagination helper collects response items and can prepend pagination debug information when Debug is enabled.
