Upload Batch

AI-generated

Summary

Uploads the binary files from all input items to a chosen Calypso knowledge bucket in one batch request, returning a single combined result item.

Inputs

  • Bucket Name or ID (required) — Target knowledge bucket, picked from the active buckets available to the API key (or set by expression). Read once from the first item.
  • Binary Property Name (required) — Name of the binary property holding the file on each input item (default 'data'). The same name is used for every item.
  • Upload Options > Batch Idempotency Key — Key that makes batch retries idempotent. Defaults to 'calypso-batch-' plus the current timestamp in milliseconds. The node errors if it is empty.
  • Upload Options > Dry Run — If true, sends the request with ?dry_run=true to validate the batch without writing files.
  • Upload Options > Metadata — JSON object that is attached to every file in the batch. It must be a JSON object, not an array.
  • Upload Options > Tags — Comma-separated string or JSON array of strings, applied to every file in the batch.

Output shape

A single item containing the Calypso API response for the batch, with a metadata.calypsoUpload block added (operation, bucketId, binaryPropertyName, inputItems count, dryRun). It is paired with all input items.

Parameters are read from the first item only. The node errors if there are no input items, or if any item lacks the binary property. Each file's title is set to its filename. A unique client_file_id is generated per file from the filename and its index. Any API failure throws an error for the whole batch; the batch path does not honor Continue On Fail. The exact response fields come from the Calypso API and aren't defined in the node.

Examples

Example 1: Ingest a folder of PDFs into a support knowledge bucket

Read files with a Read Binary Files node, then Upload Batch with Bucket = Support Docs, Binary Property Name = data, Tags = 'support, handbook'.

Example 2: Preview an upload before committing

Set Upload Options > Dry Run = true and keep the default idempotency key to validate the batch without writing any files.

Example 3: Safely retry a scheduled sync

Set Batch Idempotency Key to a stable expression such as the run date so a retried execution doesn't duplicate files.
