Sandbox → Create
AI-generatedSummary
Create a Daytona sandbox from a selected snapshot or, when no snapshot is selected, a Docker image. Optionally configure its resources, environment, network access, labels, volumes, region, and lifecycle intervals; by default, wait for it to reach the started state before returning its sandbox record.
Inputs
- Snapshot Name or ID — Snapshot to use as the sandbox base. A selected snapshot takes precedence over Image; leave empty to use Image or the organization default snapshot.
- Image — Docker image reference, used only when Snapshot is empty. The image is pulled during creation.
- Name — Human-friendly sandbox name.
- Ephemeral — When enabled, sets the auto-delete interval to 0 so the sandbox is deleted as soon as it stops. This overrides Auto-Delete Interval.
- Wait Until Started — Whether to wait for the sandbox to reach the started state before returning; defaults to true.
- Wait Timeout (Seconds) — Maximum time to wait for the started state when waiting is enabled; defaults to 60 seconds.
- Additional Fields — Optional settings: auto-archive, auto-delete and auto-stop intervals; environment variables; labels; network allow list or block-all setting; public preview URLs; target region; OS user; and volume mounts by volume ID, mount path, and optional subpath. CPU, memory, and disk settings apply only to image-based creates; snapshots define their own resources.
Output shape
A single n8n item whose JSON is the created sandbox record, or the updated sandbox record after waiting for it to start.
If waiting is disabled, returns the initial creation record. If enabled and the sandbox is not already started, polls until it starts or the configured timeout is reached; API errors, failure states, and timeouts raise an error.
