Summary

Updates an existing customer in the Fynn API.

Inputs

• customerId (required) — The customer ID (UUID) to update. Must match UUID pattern: 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000.
• countryCode (required) — Country code (required). Default: DE.
• timeZone (required) — The timezone of the customer. Used for communication and document generation. Default: Europe/Berlin.
• language (required) — The language of the customer. Used for communication and document generation. Options: German (de), English (en). Default: de.
• commercialRegisterName — The name of the commercial register. Needed for collection processes on companies.
• commercialRegisterNumber — The ID of the customer in the commercial register, e.g. HRB 123456. Needed for collection processes on companies.
• companyName — Company name. Length between 2 and 255 characters.
• contactPerson — The contact person ID of the customer (UUID). Must match UUID pattern.
• currencyCode — Currency code. If empty, the default currency of the tenant is used.
• customFields — Custom fields for the entity. Keys are field names, values are field values. Must be configured under /custom-fields in the API documentation. Default: {}.
• customerGroup — The customer group ID of the customer (UUID). Must match UUID pattern.
• customerNumber — Customer number. If empty, the customer number is generated automatically. Length between 2 and 255 characters.
• datevId — The ID of the customer in DATEV. If not provided and accounting.useDebitorAccounts is true, a datev ID will be generated. Length between 2 and 255 characters.
• firstName — First name. Can be empty if the customer is a company. Length between 2 and 255 characters.
• gender — Gender needed for personal customer collection process. Options: Male (male), Female (female), Diverse (diverse). Default: male.
• lastName — Last name. Can be empty if the customer is a company. Length between 2 and 255 characters.
• phone — Phone number. Length between 2 and 255 characters.
• taxExempt — Tax exemption status. Options: Auto (charged based on country and VAT ID status), Exempt (never charged with taxes). Default: auto.
• vatId — VAT ID. Length between 2 and 255 characters.
• requestOptions — Advanced request options for the HTTP call. Includes batching, SSL verification, proxy, and timeout settings.

Returns the updated customer object as provided by the Fynn API after a successful PATCH request to /customers/{customerId}.

Example 1: Update a customer's language and timezone

Set customerId to a valid UUID, language to 'en', timeZone to 'America/New_York', leave other fields at defaults.
