Sheet → Append Rows
AI-generatedSummary
Appends one or more rows to the end of a worksheet in an Excel (.xlsx) file stored in SharePoint. It downloads the file through Microsoft Graph, adds the rows with ExcelJS, and uploads the whole file back.
Inputs
- Site (required) — SharePoint site, chosen from a searchable list or entered by ID (e.g. contoso.sharepoint.com,site-guid,web-guid).
- Drive (required) — Document library/drive that holds the file, chosen from a list or entered by ID.
- File (required) — The .xlsx file, chosen from a list or entered by ID. The list only shows .xlsx files in the drive root.
- Sheet (required) — Worksheet to append to, chosen from a list or entered by name. The operation errors if the sheet is not found.
- Data Mode — Auto-Map (default) uses each input item's JSON keys as column headers. Map Each Column Below uses the column mapper UI. Raw uses a JSON object or array of objects.
- Columns (required) — Shown in manual mode. Column-to-value mapping, loaded from the sheet's header row. It errors if no values are provided.
- Row Data (required) — Shown in raw mode. A JSON object, or an array of objects for several rows. Invalid JSON raises an error.
- Options > Header Row — 1-indexed row number that holds the column headers. Default is 1.
Output shape
A single item with success (true), rowsAdded (total rows appended across all input items), and sheet (the sheet name).
The node returns one summary item, not one item per input row. Values are matched to columns by header name. Keys with no matching header are silently dropped. If the header row is empty, the first item's keys are written as the headers, in key order. Auto-map and manual modes add one row per input item. In raw mode, an array adds one row per element. Raw mode re-evaluates Row Data for each input item. The whole file is rewritten on upload, so a locked file (open in Excel) raises a 'File is locked' error. With Continue On Fail, an error item is returned instead of throwing.
Examples
Example 1: Log each incoming webhook payload as a new row in a tracking sheet.
Pick Site, Drive, File and Sheet. Leave Data Mode on Auto-Map. Make sure the payload keys match the sheet's header names.
Example 2: Append a fixed row with expressions for selected columns.
Set Data Mode to Map Each Column Below. Map the Name and Email columns to expressions such as {{$json.name}} and {{$json.email}}.
Example 3: Append several rows at once from a JSON array, with headers on row 3.
Set Data Mode to Raw. Set Row Data to an array of objects. Add the Header Row option and set it to 3.
