Summary

Polls the status of a previously started ASM background task on an F5 BIG-IP by sending a GET to /mgmt/tm/asm/tasks/{taskType}/{taskId} and returns the task's current state as reported by iControl REST.

Inputs

• Task Type (required) — Kind of ASM task to look up: Export Policy, Export Signatures, Import Policy (default), Import Vulnerabilities, Initiate Vulnerability Assessment, Resolve Vulnerabilities, Terminate Vulnerability Assessment, or Update Signatures. It forms part of the URL path and must match the task that was started.
• Task ID (required) — Unique ID of the background task, as returned when the task was created (for example by the Export Policy, Import Policy or Update Signatures operations).
• Request Options — Optional node settings: batching (items per batch, default 50, and interval between batches, default 1000 ms), Ignore SSL Issues, an HTTP proxy URL, and a request timeout (default 10000 ms).

Output shape

The JSON response from the BIG-IP task endpoint for the given task, one result per input item.

The source declares no response post-processing, so the fields are whatever BIG-IP returns for that task type (typically a status and result details). Authentication and base URL come from the bigIpF5Api credential. The operation only reads and does not change the task. It does not poll in a loop, so for long-running tasks use it with a Wait node or loop to re-check.

Examples

Example 1: Check whether a policy export has finished after starting it with Export Policy.

Task Type = Export Policy; Task ID = {{ $json.id }} from the previous node.

Example 2: Confirm an attack signature update completed before continuing the workflow.

Task Type = Update Signatures; Task ID = ID from the Update Signatures response.
