Summary

Sends text messages, media attachments, and rich iMessage features to a chat.

Inputs

  • chatId (required) — The conversation to target. Can be a phone number in E.164 format (e.g. +15551234567), an email address, a group ID (grp_xxx), or a comma-separated list of phone numbers/emails for a multi-recipient chat.
  • text — Text body of the message.
  • attachments — Public URLs for media attachments (images, videos, files).
  • effect — Attach an iMessage send-with-effect (e.g., balloons, confetti, invisible ink). iMessage-only — ignored on SMS/RCS and not supported with multipart sends.
  • from_number — E.164 phone number to send from. Must be a number assigned to your API key. Optional for Twilio keys.
  • idempotencyKey — Unique key to prevent duplicate sends. Re-using a key returns the original result.
  • reply_to_message_id — Send as an inline reply to an earlier Blooio message (msg_xxx) in the same chat. iMessage-only.
  • share_contact — Whether to share your contact card (Name & Photo) with this message. Only available on Dedicated Commercial and Enterprise plans.
  • use_typing_indicator — Whether to show a typing indicator before sending the message.

Output shape

a single record (the sent message) or an array of records if processing multiple items.

The API endpoint returns the details of the sent message. If processing multiple items in a workflow, this node emits one item per input item containing the response data.
