Colorize

AI-generated

Summary

Colorize an image using Bria AI, returning the generated result as binary image data and the final API response as JSON.

Inputs

  • imageUrl (required) — The URL of the image. Alternatively, you can pass a base64 encoded string.
  • instruction (required) — The text prompt, instruction, color, season, or style to apply (mapped to the 'color' parameter for the colorize operation).
  • maxRetries — Maximum number of times to poll the status URL.
  • waitTime — Time to wait between polling attempts in milliseconds.

Output shape

Each returned item contains a 'json' field with the final API response data and a 'binary' field with the generated image data as a base64-encoded PNG downloaded from the S3 pre-signed URL without authentication. If the operation does not complete within maxRetries, an error is thrown.

The operation sends a POST to /v2/image/edit/colorize with {image: , color: }, polls the returned status_url, and on completion downloads the result image.

Examples

Example 1: Colorize a workflow image with a prompt like 'warm sunset tones'

Set imageUrl to the source image URL and instruction to the desired color/style. The node polls up to 30 times at 3-second intervals by default, then returns the colorized image binary and the full API response.
