Summary

Describe the schema of a specified Nexoid table by sampling recent records and inferring field types, example values, enum candidates, references, and decimal hints.

Inputs

  • Authentication Mode — Choose between using the generic API service account or a user-scoped Nexoid session ID to authenticate the request.
  • Provided Session ID (required) — A user-scoped Nexoid session_id used instead of API service account credentials; required if Authentication Mode is 'Provided Session'.
  • Table Name (required) — Name of the table (record type) in Nexoid to analyze.
  • Sample Mode — Predefined or custom setting determining how many recent records to sample when inferring the schema. Options are Quick (100), Standard (500), Deep (2000), or Custom.
  • Custom Sample Size — If Sample Mode is Custom, sets the exact number of recent records to sample (between 1 and 10,000).
  • Schema Overrides (JSON) — A JSON object providing manual corrections or enrichments to the generated schema, such as adding notes or adjusting decimal scale hints for fields.
  • Max Examples Per Field — Maximum number of distinct example values to keep per field in the generated schema.
  • Max Example Records — Maximum number of example records to include in the schema output for reference.

Output shape

a single JSON object representing the schema of the specified Nexoid table, including field types, example values, enums, reference hints, decimal hints, and sampled records

The output schema object is generated by sampling recent records from the specified table (up to the sample size determined by the Sample Mode or Custom Sample Size). Manual overrides (if provided) are merged into the generated schema. Examples and records included are limited by Max Examples Per Field and Max Example Records parameters. Authentication must be successful to query Nexoid's API. Errors from schema discovery are propagated.

Examples

Example 1: Describe the schema of the 'contact' table using the standard sample size and API User authentication.

Set 'Authentication Mode' to 'API User', 'Table Name' to 'contact', 'Sample Mode' to 'standard', and leave optional parameters as defaults.

Example 2: Describe the schema of a table 'invoice' sampling 150 records using a provided session ID for user-scoped permissions.

Set 'Authentication Mode' to 'Provided Session', provide 'Provided Session ID', set 'Table Name' to 'invoice', set 'Sample Mode' to 'custom', and set 'Custom Sample Size' to 150.
