Summary

Create an OpenSearch index with the required Index ID. Optionally provide aliases, mappings, settings, and request controls such as timeouts and the active shard count; enable Skip If Exists to return successfully without creating the index when it already exists.

Inputs

• Index ID (required) — ID of the index to create.
• Additional Fields — Optional aliases, mappings, and settings as JSON, plus Include Type Name, Master Timeout, Timeout, and Wait for Active Shards controls. Skip If Exists checks whether the index exists first and skips the create request if it does.

Output shape

One output item per input item, containing the OpenSearch create response with the index ID added as id.

When Skip If Exists finds an existing index, the item is { "id": "<index ID>", "acknowledged": true, "skipped": true }. API or JSON parsing errors can fail the operation.
