Summary

Lists messages from a channel.

Inputs

• channelId (required) — Choose from the list, or specify an ID using an expression
• returnAll — Whether to return all results or only up to a given limit
• limit — Max number of results to return
• additionalFields.cursor — Pagination cursor returned by the previous request to fetch the next page

Output shape

A JSON array of message objects from the specified channel, wrapped in n8n execution metadata. When returnAll is true, paginates through all available pages via the nextCursor until exhausted. When false, respects the limit parameter (default 50, max 100) and optional cursor, returning up to the specified number of messages from a single API request.

Fetches via GET /listMessages with channelId as a query parameter.

Examples

Example 1: Retrieve up to 20 messages from a channel

Set channelId to the desired channel, returnAll to false, and limit to 20.

Example 2: Retrieve all messages from a channel

Set returnAll to true and leave limit at its default; the operation will loop until no nextCursor is returned.
