Render Video

Summary

Render an MP4 video through a configured Remotion server, using either a manually composed timeline or one upstream item per scene. Manual mode returns render status and video URLs; batch mode renders scenes, concatenates them with ffmpeg, and returns the video as binary data.

Inputs

  • Input Method — Choose Manual to define image, text, and audio clips in the node, or Batch Render to build one scene from each upstream item. Batch scene items can provide imageUrl, audioUrl, caption, and duration (also accepts url/src/img_url/image_url; audio_url/voice/voice_url; text/title/voiceOver/voice_over; and length/video_length). Batch mode supports per-item overrides for effect, fit, fades, caption appearance, positions, volume, and soundtrack.
  • Images (Manual) — Add image URLs with start time and length in seconds; optionally set a Ken Burns effect and fade in or out.
  • Text Overlays (Manual) — Add caption text with start time and length, alignment, font settings, background, entrance animation, and static or TikTok-style caption rendering. TikTok style also accepts word timing in milliseconds.
  • Audio Clips (Manual) — Add audio URLs with start time and length in seconds.
  • Soundtrack (Manual) — Optionally provide a background audio URL and volume.
  • Output Settings (Manual) — Set the resolution preset and FPS; defaults are Full HD (1080) and 25 FPS.
  • Resolution and FPS (Batch) — Set the combined output resolution and FPS; defaults are vertical 1080×1920 and 30 FPS.
  • Batch Render Defaults — Set default image effect and fit, fades, text styling and caption behavior, per-scene audio volume, and soundtrack settings. Batch item fields can override applicable defaults.

Output shape

Manual mode returns one item per input item, each with renderId, status, videoUrl, downloadUrl, and pollsNeeded. Batch mode returns one item with status, scenesProcessed, and fileName, plus binary video/mp4 data under binary.data.

Both modes submit renders and wait for completion by polling. Batch mode renders scenes sequentially and concatenates them with ffmpeg; ffmpeg must be installed in the n8n container. Errors are thrown unless Continue On Fail is enabled, in which case an error item is returned. A valid Remotion server credential is required.
