AI-generatedSummary
Send an SMTP reply linked to the original email using In-Reply-To and References headers. Optionally save a copy to the IMAP Sent folder, mark the original as answered, and move it to another folder.
Inputs
- From — Sender address or formatted name and address; uses the credential’s default From address when empty.
- To (required) — Comma- or semicolon-separated recipient addresses.
- CC — Optional comma- or semicolon-separated CC addresses.
- BCC — Optional comma- or semicolon-separated BCC addresses.
- Subject (required) — Reply subject. By default, the node prepends “Re:” unless the subject already starts with “re:”.
- HTML Body — HTML message body.
- Plain Text Body — Optional plain-text alternative; when empty, a plain-text version is generated from the HTML body.
- Attachments (Binary Property Names) — Comma- or semicolon-separated names of binary properties on the input item to attach.
- Auto-Prepend “Re:” — Defaults to true; adds “Re:” to the subject if it does not already start with “re:”.
- Original Message-ID (required) — Message-ID of the email being replied to. Defaults to $json.messageId; angle brackets are added if missing.
- Original References — Existing References header, space-separated; defaults to the input item’s references joined by spaces. Used to build the reply’s References header.
- Save Copy to Sent — Defaults to true; appends the sent RFC822 message to the IMAP Sent folder.
- Sent Folder Override — Optional folder path for the Sent copy; otherwise the credential setting or a detected/fallback Sent folder is used.
- Mark Original as Answered — Defaults to true; adds the IMAP \Answered flag to the original message after sending.
- Original Mailbox — Mailbox containing the original message; defaults to $json.mailbox or INBOX.
- Original UID or Message-ID — Identifier used to find the original message for flagging or moving. Defaults to $json.uid; a numeric UID is preferred, and a Message-ID can also be used.
- Move Original to Folder — Optional destination folder for the original message after sending.
Output shape
A list of output items, one per input item, each containing a JSON result.
The result includes the SMTP messageId, accepted and rejected recipients, smtpResponse, and the generated inReplyTo and references thread headers. When enabled, it also includes savedToSent details, originalAnswered, and/or originalMovedTo details. With Continue On Fail, an item’s JSON contains an error field instead. The node requires mailbox credentials for SMTP and IMAP.
