Summary

Updates a Microsoft Entra group by sending selected changes to Microsoft Graph. Choose the group from the searchable list or enter its ID, then add the fields to update; fields not selected are not included in the update request.

Inputs

• Group to Update (required) — Select a group from the list or enter its ID.
• Update Fields — Optionally set group properties: allow external senders, auto-subscribe new members, description, display name, mail alias (local part only), dynamic membership rule and processing state, preferred data location, security enabled, unique name, and visibility. Display names over 256 characters and mail aliases over 64 characters or containing a domain or disallowed characters are rejected. Unique name can only be set when null and is immutable once set.
• Request Options — Optional request settings for batching, SSL certificate validation, proxy, and timeout.

Output shape

A single item per input item, retaining its input JSON and adding updated: true on success.

The operation uses PATCH. Most selected update fields are sent in the initial request; Allow External Senders and Auto Subscribe New Members are sent in a separate PATCH request. If no fields are set, the operation ignores Graph's empty-payload error and still returns updated: true. A missing group ID is reported as an error.
