Time Entry → Create

AI-generated

Summary

Creates a time entry (a TimedTaskRecord) on a Tyme task by POSTing to the Tyme API's update_entity endpoint, and returns the API's response.

Inputs

  • Task ID (required) — ID of the task the entry belongs to. Sent as related_id.
  • User ID — ID of the user who logged the time. Sent as user_id, and sent as an empty string if left blank.
  • Start Time (required) — Start of the entry. Converted to Tyme's UTC 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm:ss' format.
  • Additional Fields: Billing State — Unbilled (0), Billed (1) or Paid (2).
  • Additional Fields: Note — Free-text note for the entry.
  • Additional Fields: End Time — End of the entry, converted to Tyme's date format. Leave it empty to create a running entry.
  • Additional Fields: ID — Custom ID for the entry. It is auto-generated if omitted and can't be changed after creation.

Output shape

One output item per input item. Its json is the Tyme API response for the created entry.

Each output item is paired to its input item. With Continue On Fail enabled, a failed item returns {error: message} instead of stopping the run. The source doesn't document the response fields. Date values are converted via JavaScript's toISOString, so they are sent in UTC.

Examples

Example 1: Log a completed 2-hour work session against a task.

Set Task ID and Start Time. Under Additional Fields, add End Time (start + 2h) and a Note.

Example 2: Start a running timer when a webhook fires.

Set Task ID and Start Time to {{$now}}. Leave End Time unset so the entry keeps running.

Example 3: Import already-invoiced time from another system.

Set Task ID, User ID and Start Time. Under Additional Fields, add End Time and set Billing State to Billed.
